Well.....I've just signed up for Sky Sports Collection + HD.
Live football is my primary reason for staying on the Pay-TV bandwagon (my secondary reason is HD). Now that ESPN have lost half their EPL games for the next 3 seasons, I couldn't resist doing my bit to help feed those poor Premiership footballers.
I wasn't gonna do it at first. £7 for 2 Sports Channels? Plus another £20.50 on top of that for 4 SD Channels (two of which I'm never gonna watch if I have their HD equivalents). I must be mad.
Then I realised that the £27.50 per month for the Sports channels + HD was still cheaper than me paying by monthly direct debit for a season ticket to watch the City, who weren't exactly entertaining to watch last season (but I'm still looking forward to watching City vs Derby on SS3

).
It took VM less then a hour to add the channels and I must say, the quality of the picture for the cricket on SS1HD is outstanding.
I may knock my XL broadband down to L just to compensate a bit and save some money. I'll probably leave my XL TV as is thanks to all the HD Basic Channels VM are throwing at us (didn't think I'd be typing that in a year ago!

).
But at least the choice is
there now for those who have waited for so long to have Sky Sports HD on Digital Cable, and for those who are able and willing to pay for it
.
Looking forward to Red Button too.
