They might class this latest "upgrade" as a free, but I'm sure the various internet packages list email as part of the deal - i.e. contract.

If they are failing to provide this basic part of the service, then they at the very least should tells us what is going on and what they are doing to fix it. The brief "national outage" doesn't help on the status pages when it goes on for days.

I'm not looking for a blame culture here, as customers, at the end of the day it's pointless pointing fingers at Google, Virgin or whoever. I hope internally lessons are being learnt, not least in the obviously poor project management and testing that has been undertaken for these migrations.

What I would like to see is Virgin saying what's gone wrong, what they are doing to fix it, and when it's likely to be fixed. The way these ongoing faults are being handled is just not good enough. If it's all now fixed, maybe a courtesy email to apologise and explain what's happened.

We are the customers, we pay their wages, they should show us some respect.
