What he's saying is that if you ask "what is the DNS address registered to this IP?" you get a customer DNS record rather that it returning pop3.ntlworld.com.
In other words the forward and reverse DNS records for the IP do not match.

They all resolve to NTL/Virginmedia and are valid so nothing to worry about.
