As has been said this is a political thing nothing more he knows damn well we cannot change the minds of the french and germans and therefore turkey has no chance of getting in. What he is doing though is making the UK a more preferred option for turkey in many areas of business and giving us an advantage seems to me thats what we have pm's for.

As for vast amounts of turks coming to this country if they did get membership i have news for you most of the likely ones are already here. We are already getting the illegals if he can put us in a position to make some money out of turkey then i am all for it.
