Russ I wasn't missing the point.. Instead pointing out that sometimes a choice like that doesn't come into it.. If there isn't an alternative then the speed drop is irrelavant as everyone else can only offer the slower speeds. If VM was making him pay the £50 fee as a cancellation fee (or for a 2Mb ADSL service) then yes it would be wrong.. As was said in the first few posts VM hasn't made him move, just the same as VM didn't make him sign a 12 month contract which specified a cancellation clause (both were the OP's decision )
