I've suffered the same problem since my (Samsung) box arrived and timings can still be way off despite rebooting.

I've resorted to adding 5 mins before AND after schedule timings (in the V+ extras option). Has the advantage of allowing for broadcaster variances in timings, too.

The Five channels are a grade one buggeroo for it - at least one in ten recordings starts 5 mins early or ends 5 late!

It also gives you that bit of leeway, when you forget to do the weekly reboot.
