It is funny how the government and so many other entitys talk about the need to be flexible in todays labour market and yet many of our systems in relation to benefit are anything but flexible.

Right now where i live a lot of people have lost their jobs and at xmas time many wanted to take up the seasonal work but because of the hassle of benefit they decided not to because the work was only for a few weeks. It is such a wated oppurtunity by the system because it would show how much people want to work and how willing they are as well as the masive personal benefit to those people that even short time work brings.

As with many other things in this country our media need a severe kick up the backside because they are the ones doing the biggest damage to benefit claimants they promote and perpetuate the myth that all on benefit are looking for an easy ride and something for nothing. They ingrain that attitude and make it ten times harder for people to get out of the benefit cycle and quite deliberately as far as i am concerned so they can moan about the problem and sell their dirty little rags.
yep benefits should be paid or at least worked out on a daily basis so people would be able to do a days work with out totally messing up all other benefits often for weeks afterwards
