Old, old, Celeron 1.3 Ghz, 384MB Ram,40meg HD, old graphics card.

It`s strange that when i boot from live CD all seems fine, allthough i think you maybe right, might give Mint or PClinux a bash.

Everything else seems fine just this screen flicker problem, if i set it to a lower resolution it does work better but then i lose half the screen

I`ve tried to locate a driver and install but it says no proprietary installed.

XP worked fine on it but i suppose that`s because most stuff is designed for Microsoft
