Wasn't all that 'YTS', 'New Deal', 'Work Trials', (and even modern apprenticeships) pretty much a 'work for your benfits' scheme anyway?
They just change the name and disguise it as some flashy new idea to the media and the public every 10/15 years or so, usually when there's a general election looming just so they can say "we're doing somthing about unemployment", without actually creating more jobs.
