I don;t think we will see PVR with a burner in them in the UK, I know you can get them in the US as they have the cable card system so you just buy a third party box and plug in your card.

As for the internet suggestion, you will t be able to install software on your Tivo as it will most likely a closed system. You can buy a slingbox to do what you suggest however I believe that there is a big announcement waiting to be made by Virgin as they have signed up two broadcasters (Disney and Turner) for broadcasting, on-line and mobile rights.
