I am trying to work out how much it costs me in electricity to run my V+box and TV. I know there is a formulae where you multiple killowatt hours by this or that, I just don't know. Does anyone know this formulae or suggest where I might find it?
Thank you
On the back of the TV and the V+ box there should be some information on the power consumption in watts, this is usually the maximum. In standby the power is much lower, TVs generally run around 1 watt. The V+ box takes approximatly 24 watts irrespective of the mode its in.

Your electricity is priced in "Units", a unit is 1000 watts for 1 hour (a kilowatt/hour). If your TV takes, for example, 250watts then it will consume a unit in four hours (4x250 = 1KW/hour)

So take the combined watts of the TV and box and divide 1000 by it to get how long you can run for 1 unit.
