I used Charm to sort out Tali's trial...
- "Commander Shepard, do you have any evidence to exonerate Tali?"
- [Charm option] "I don't need evidence! Tali helped me stop Saren & save the galaxy, that's all the evidence required! This trial isn't even about Tali, it's really just about whether you'll be going to war with the Geth or not!"
Loyalty gained, plus case dismissed.
[Charm] again for her argument with Legion (same with Miranda & Jack's).
[Intimidate] would work, but my Renegade meter wasn't high enough.
Upgrades... yeah, I'd assume the unique character-specific ones do factor into it. The main ship ones you get off three characters *definitely* do (no armour, someone dies when the round things attack; no shields, someone dies when you go through the debris field; no guns, someone dies when you take on the Collector ship).
Loyalty is essential. Not sure if it's essential for *every* team member, but you do need it for any chosen Specialists, plus you need it for your final party members (not loyal > they die at the very end > Shepard dies as there is no-one to help pull him/her up when he/she jumps to reach the Normandy). Picking the correct Specialist is essential too... a non-pure-techy won't open the doors in time, a bad leader will screw up the fireteam, a non-pure-Biotic won't keep the shield up...
I really want to get started on a second playthrough. I have other games sitting there (including God of War Collection, which I've not touched since some time before Christmas), but all I want to do is play ME2
Someone on BXB has been off work all week with a broken collar bone, & has just finished his *second* playthrough (35 hours, after a 45 hour more thorough 1st one).
EDIT:
Anyone interested in what happens if Commander Shepard does not survive the suicide mission?
(spoiler, obviously)
