the thing i find very strange, BT didnt see fit to put wythenshawe/manchester internation airport (10 miles south of manchester city center) on the list though.

wythenshaws (including VMs baguley building etc) got to be perhaps Virgin Media's largest single deployment of residential cable, being still one of the largest garden citys of the EU.

and Manchester airport's 3rd party companies and hotels, offices etc not to mention the massive wythenshaw hospital and their need for many high speed medical and other data tranfers have got to be werth a good few long term FTTC/P... and fibre backhaul lines.

so why didnt BT see fit to put that on their Phase 1 never mind Phase 2 lists... dont they want to take on VM! there, or did they just mess up the chance, very odd.

hell, you could probably make a very good case today for sighting a few new large Co-Location sites there and run new fibre from them all over the country to encurage new IT Co-location and backhaul growth in the NW etc...
