Re: Decent laptop for under £250?

Sure, it's MD95370. The motherboard (ms-10061) seems to be really expensive where sold and I think the screen has also gone now. It's a real shame but I've gone into detail about the problems on my other thread on here about my laptop having died.
My gf also has a SIM2000 and has put the 1GB of DDR I installed in mine into hers now.
I'd really like to get a laptop very similar to the SIM2000 as I liked the design and its compactness.
Medion - can provide an out of warranty repair I do believe it's £150.50 + parts. With a 10 working day turn around. I'd be happy to book this in for you. You may notice, I work on the tech desk for Medion, in Swindon.

Looks good, thanks. I definitely think the spec is great, shame it has Vista as opposed to XP though
My SIM2000 was bought with a damaged screen for less than £100. I purchased a replacement screen for £150 from Medion in Swindon and swapped it out. I enquired recently about getting a new motherboard but was told I can't buy spare parts which I thought was odd when I had before.
You can of course, downgrade to Win XP - Without it ruining the warranty. Aswell, the unti comes with a Win 7 Voucher. Parts are all now in Germany, as well as most repairs. Thus we can't sell parts either and or they don't make them no more.
