Unhappy Well, I'm stumped [Connection = No Connection. What?]

My other half's parents decided to cancel their AOL subscription and sign up for Virgin fibre optic broadband with wireless router (Netgear).

The guy's came to install the fibre connection but forgot the Wireless router which was delivered the next day, but not installed.

I installed the wireless router, set up their computer with the correct SSID, the (supplied) WPA key and connect to the network with a USB wireless adapter (will supply model when Im at the pc).

Great. It say's its connected to the correct virgin broadband network, signal excellent et all but the supplied Virgin network connection software say's it was unable to connect to the router and won't let me go any further in the process.

I tried bypassing the software and setting up the connection the windows way. Still lets me connect, but no internet and no connection to the router. Apparently.

I get out my iPod touch, enter in the ssid and security key and bingo, I'm in. I can surf, connect to routerlogin.net and confirm that the pc is among the attached devices but still nothing on the PC.

HELP! I don't know whats happening here and they're thinking of switching back to AOL if it doesn't work soon.


I can do an cmd/ipconfig copy and paste tonight when I'm there if that will help. The IP assigned to the PC was like 192.168.1.4
