This is about average. A standard ADSL line can theoretically carry up to 8 Meg, but some of this will be lost. Similarly with ADSL 2 LLU lines. These can theoretically carry up to 24 meg, but you will lose some.

Not too sure about O2, but Be also supply a software CD. It is only really required when you connect to the router via USB (you will *not* see the full ADSL2 speed on this as it is a USB 1 device).
