I'm looking for advice as to setting up Xbox Live via a secondary modem.
My current set up is :
Cable TV via V+ box & modem to laptop downstairs.
Cable TV 1x V+ box & 1x V box upstairs via one white cable box split into two outputs (there are two cables from outside box, one for downstairs, one for upstairs)
Currently to connect to XBox Live I power off the modem and disconnect the broadband cable from the modem to my laptop, connect the XBox Live cable and repower the modem...everything OK.
I would like to add a second modem upstairs for a permanent connection to XBox live via the white cable TV box upstairs AND still keep the downstairs modem connected to my lap top.
Is this possible ?
Would there be conflicting issues if both broadband laptop connection AND the XBox live connection were switched on simultanaously ?
Can both the laptop & the Xbox Live share the same IP address, indeed would a set up like I describe above actually work on one IP address ?
