VM I believe sell certian premium channels at a loss to remain competitive, non premium channels are mostly break even or a very small profit. I have heard from more than one source TV makes them no money and its just so they could offer triple play.

Sky however is the opposite they sell broadband at a loss but it means they also offer triple play. So both companies are making losses on certian products to keep customer retention high.

Are you having a laugh? It is free to phone VM! it's 150 on your virgin landline and an 0800 number from a phone box

Sorry you need to relook at your source then. Because tv does make them money. They have a very attractive VIP package that makes them lots of revenue and their tv package sees good uptake. They make money from VOD and filmflex too. V+ is seeing big uptake and it costs customers £75 to have the box. How exactly are they not making money? Broadcasters pay vm to broadcast on thier platform too. Infact i would say they make more profit from tv than BB.

Sky make a loss on bb because it is simply a subsidary and you get it free with their tv service of you choose the lower tier. VM's tv is not a subsidary and you do have to pay for it every month.
