It's the IP address of the connection to the minicity server that counts, not the IP of the local LAN you have in your home. Thus assuming both lappy and desktop share your broadband via a router, you only have that one IP, and thus only one click from either the desktop or lappy.

People who can do two or more clicks are generally using at least two separate networks, i.e home and office.
