FTA Channels pay ASTRA to broadcast via satellite and the channel pays a fee to Sky to appear on their EPG and if they want to be seen on Freesat they have to pay Freesat a fee to appear on their EPG (which is seperate EPG to Sky's)
On cable VM pay a carriage fee to the channel itself so they can carry it and of course it becomes a premium channel so they can recoup the money spent on carriage fees from customers.
