Here's my evidence that PC Guard was no good on my machine... it grabbed 100% CPU and wouldn't let go.If I tried stopping it in task manager my PC would crash and reboot. When I tried to uninstall it using the accompanying uninstaller that too grabbed 100% CPU and sat there doing NOTHING. I even left my PC over night, after 10 hours it was still stuck at about 80% uninstall.

I finally got rid using various underhand tactics which most certainly would be frowned upon by a large proportion of this forum's members.

BTW I have no vested interest in any piece of software, free or otherwise (I doubt most members of this forum have either). I just don't like it when I can't use my PC because some bit of code thinks it has more right to it than me.
well I have just checked task manager and apart from all the usual background services running I have cfosspeed and pc guard running and cpu is between 1 and 4 percent . I suggest you check for spyware and viruses and do an msconfig and shut down any unecessary start up programmes that are eating up cpu .
