Sadly,it sounds like he is coming to what may be the last of his hopping days..
usually a rabbit will live until about 10-12 but this rabbit sounds very unwell.
When they start losing the ability to hop/walk,they can sometimes be given steroids to help,but if this isnt done with a certain urgency it becomes a huge problem and it may be kinder to have bunny put to sleep.
I am so sorry for saying this,having a bunny in our house,i know how distressing this must be for you and the rabbit.
