Is it correct to just remove the suite (Norton and Liveupdates) using the Control Panel program removal facility?
use add/delete from control panel but first download the "remove Norton " file , from Norton , via your browser. Run that after uninstalling, otherwise bits get left behind.
The Google pack will give you most that you need , in the way of antispyware etc. if you are running XP.
