Yeah it has Blu-Ray, but its limited and cant even play Blu-Ray films at 1080P 24fps (which after all is the whole point) and besides what do you want a GAMES console or a fancy DVD player?
Games tend to be as good as or better looking on the Xbox 360 too, like GTA IV which has a higher resolution on the 360 than that PS3 version (and actually works better too according to reports).
Not to mention that the PS3 has really long load times for games.
Still you can run Linux on it i suppose, which will allow you to, eh, write a document with your control pad.
Personally though, i'd say dont bother with any of them and get a Wii, much better.

sorry mate but most of that post is a load pf rubbish , for one ok the ps3 is a little more expensive but look what you get with it for the price , a great gaming console blu ray dvd player wireless , great games yes there are a few multi platform games that look and play better on the ps3 than the 360 , load times are about the same as or in some cases better than the 360 , its cheaper to play online on the ps3 than the 360 , comes with wireless where as on the 360 you have to fanny about to get it set up and i bet i have missed someting out oh yes much more reliable as well , but as a gaming console the 360 does a good job of playing games when it works
