ASUS Mobo powers up on its own
I have an ASUS P5W DH Delux MOBO and have one of those surge protected extention leads with a master socket. The theory was that if i plug the PC into the master socket the 5 peripherals would power down when the PC shuts down. That was the theory anyhow
Starting from all devices off the following happens
1. Power on PC
2. 10 secs later the other sockets become live so the screen and peripherals switch on.
3. Use the PC and all is fine
4. Shut down the PC, which happens and the PC switches off
5. 10 secs later the other sockets become dead and at this point in time the PC fires up and the whole cycles begins again.
I've isolated it down to the USB hub, that causes this (if i plug the hub in elsewhere and it stays on all the time then this doesnt happen. I've also noticed that if i put my PDA in its docking station to sync it, if the PC was off it would turn the PC on automatically.
Looking in the BIOS im struggling to find an option i can change to stop the PC booting if a USB device is attatched or the voltage changes. The power on by xxxxx devices (PCI, external modem, mouse keyboard etc) are all disabled.
Ayone any ideas?
