I have XP on my macbook under bootcamp, and bootcamp has made a 'no name' directory in OS X. The 'no name' directory is the root for XP, so all the XP folders are accesible from OS X. So, any files stored in the XP partition are accessible from OS X, but not the other way round. I presume it's the same for Vista.
