Re: Who will you be voting for in the next general election?
I heard an interesting comment on the radio the other day. It was: 'The greatest threat to democracy is if people feel unrepresented'. The comment was made in the context of proportional representation. Reading through this thread, it strikes me as so true. What choice is there in this country? Nu Labour and Tories are interchangeable, and Lib Dems don't have a hope in hell of getting in. The opposition doesn't try to do anything constructive. Instead, their main goal appears to be to try to score points by pointing out the errors of the party in government.
Can we please have proportional representation? Yes, it'll mean that the BNP may get a few seats (and show what idiots they are). But so will the Green party and UKIP. Lib Dems might actually have an impact. More importantly, though: More people would feel they are represented in parliament, which can only be a good thing?
