Re: Travellers-can they be accomodated in our society?
When I was a kid we used to have two of the old fashioned gypsy caravans drawn by horses come round our way every summer, the old boy would sharpen your knives and if you had any old pots or pans he would take them off your hands. These two old caravans were proper gypsies in my opinion, never in one place for more than a few days, but the so called travellers that are about nowadays, they are a totally different story. It seems to me that most of them are travelling dole scroungers, causing an eyesore wherever they go. So if I were to buy a beat up old transit then turn up in say Cornwall, the council are obliged to find a site for me? Ridiculous, and guess who's paying for this lifestyle?
