you're quite right, as the majority of the time i'm turning on the dvd player then wanging a disc in, so have to be there in person, but i was hoping the auto switcher would work for two reasons...

i guess most devices will be hdmi for the near future, so was looking to be compatible with next freeview box/ games console/ media player/ holographic trouser simulator (ok maybe not that one)

and, more importantly

Mrs Fishybob hates remote controls, and me getting another would not go down well. plus i'd have to listen to the moans about all the hassle it is to watch a dvd, when before (with good old scart) she could just fling a dvd in and the telly would switch over. the fact that its better quality is no argument as she would regularly watch our old sky box through the RF feed, not realising it was any different!
