Re: Aaaaaaarrrgghh!!! Problems..... please help

It means that you owe Virgin the money.

It is the account holders responsibility to make sure the account is closed. Until that is done, any money billed is owed, even if the service is not being used.

You cannot expect Virgin to know that you wanted to close the account simply due to you not paying. Also sending an e-mail is all very well and good, but again, if you did not recieve confirmation the account had been closed, it is entirely possible that it was not actioned or even recieved by the right people.

I can only go from my own experience, but with Virgin Media cable broadband, if an e-mail was sent requesting disconnection, the customer would be contacted to confirm it had been actioned

Although yes unpaid phone or utility bills would result in disconnection, the account holder would still owe money to the company that they would legally be entitled to persue.

It does seem that because of the situation the debt recovery company is willing to be resonable and half the owed amount.

Any money added on between the first and second calls would have been added by the recovery agency, not Virgin.net
