I would remove the attenuator completely and just use the splitter. Your kit will get about 2 db's more signal this way which is better than leaving it in and taking 3-4 db's of both services.
2 db's is reall neither here nor there.

Thanks for that info Jonnymeg, I shall give that a try over the weekend..
At the Moment I have Cable Modem Downstream Recieve Power Level at 0.7db and SNR at 33db, Upstream Transmit Power Level is 41.5 db...
