The irony is that he was seeing a private doctor, and being prescribed methadone ampoule's, so he had the chance to steer clear of street heroin. At least with a prescription like that he had a choice weather or not to use, which is a lot more than your average addict. As you say though BBking his been sent down for failing to appear, not for the drug offences, it just makes me angry because I have a cousin who's an addict in his mid forties now, and our family went to hell and back trying to find help for him, now thanks to a caring doctor and drug team he is on a methadone prescription which keeps him stable and is working and contributing to society.
