I'm short on HDMI slots at the moment and I'm also having issues with my hdmi switch (maybe a issue with the virgin box - I've cr4eated another post regarding this)

i was thinking for a quick fix i could just use the component over HDMI

what are the advantages or disadvantages of doing this?
