Thanks for the clarification,Stuart.

Looks like we will be seeing a lot of boxes to convert/decode signals so that they can be displayed on a TV.

I have Freeview built into my TV so it looks like I will have to have my aerial connected to a box before it connects to the TV as my internal Freeview card will not be able to handle HD signals.
