Is it possible to reorganise folder structures without moving the files themselves?

Hello.

I have a laptop that is struggling for space.

I would like to reorganise the file structure but I don't have the time to move files individually or the space to do it in large chunks.

Is it possible to rearrange folder structures without actually moving anything?

Example.

I have a folder called iTunes with a subfolder called iTunes with all my music in it.

Can you just delete the unecessary subfolder to leave the files in the top most itunes folder?

Hope that makes sense.

Cheers.
