First, I am assuming you have Vista on the new PC. The Setup CDs are NOT vista compatible (AFAIK), but you don't need a setup CD to use Virgin Broadband via Ethernet.
Second, the STB will only work with pcs or routers you have registered with it. You can register up to five devices. Note, if you have a router, and connect the PCs to that, you only need to register the router.
The procedure for registering a new device is simple (IIRC)
- Switch the STB off at the mains
- Switch the PC off.
- Switch the STB back on
- Switch the PC on, log into Windows.
- Start up a web browser, and go to either http://autoreg.autoregister.net or http://start.ntl (can't remember which)
- Enter your PID and Pin (these will be in your welcome pack, if you don't know them, you'll need to contact CS)
- Follow the instructions on screen.
- Reboot both PC and STB when prompted.
 to the forum, BTW.
