Employees were informed by the Networks MD last week, after a question related to service issues, that 93% of customers are peaking at their maximum download rate even at busy periods, according to metrics as monitored by the network equipment. I guess we just don't hear much from the 93% on Cable Forum.

I'm not sure if I count as one of the 93% or not. My so-called 4Mb/s service has never recorded much more than 3Mb/s on any speed test I've ever tried. I also monitor it with NetMeter, and only BBC iPlayer ever managed to get it near to 4Mb/s. Large downloads like .iso images just sit at 3Mb/s.
£25/m for a 3Mb/s service is expensive, but 3Mb/s is quite enough for my needs. I only stick with it because I don't have a BT line any more, and can't be bothered with the hassle and cost of getting one re-installed. I'm ever hopeful than VM might fix it one day, but without any real expectation that they will...
