Hmmm, changing the modem can't hurt Ian, it may sort things out even if it seems unlikely. I've had a new modem recently after a persistent connection problem and my line is back rock solid again, although my ready light was on and off more than a traffic light before the new kit. I guess the diagnosis has to start somewhere. Good luck
