Right so first off I do NOT work for this company or knew anything about them until I came to this thread so I am not promoting them or slating them, this post is going to be purely factual and my honest opinion as to the info I have right now.

For the "pictures or didn't happen" element of the board look at the following links :-

Sorry about the quality (mobile piccies) but you can see they are real, my dad says he thinks this box is not the finished article that will be availabe to the public as there is another version but he's not 100 per cent sure. I have the brochure with the breakdown of specs, I will post a little later (word for word as he doesn't want me taking photo's of it, don't want him to get into trouble if you know what I mean).

Ok so onto the bit of kit its self, I think visually it's a very nice sleek looking piece of equipment but what can it do. The model we have is the 80GB one, firmware version 1.0.008, so straight off I hooked my ethernet into it and it found an update (already) ver. 1.0.009. Don't know what the software update achieved but my initial thoughts are that there needs to be a few more before it hits the general public.

There is one HDMI slot, one scart slot, co-axial, TV-in, TV-out, Component and Optical on the back, I hooked it up via the scart as my TV does not have HDMI and the only component cables I have are for the PS3 and 360 so obviously I was looking at it in SD so cannot comment at this time on the HD content of the box although in one of the settings options there is the function to toggle between 480i throught to 1080i but NOT 1080p.

I went into the SYSTEM menu and then scanned for channels to which it found the freeview chanels - 66 in total, don't know if thats all of them?
Setanta is in the list but wouldn't allow me to view it. Now one of the bugs I found was that there is no option to re-arrange your channel list, they better cater for this need as I for one like my channels in my order

I found there is a bit of a lag between the remote control and the execution of the command onto the tv, only about a second or two, but it's there, I'm sure one of ntl's remote was like it a few years ago but they sorted it so this is another bug that needs fixing before release.

As to the release my dad told me that January 2008 is when installations begin. I'm not saying this is definate but this is what he was told earlier this week. I will not divulge where he got the information from, but we have a box, which should tell you that I am speaking the truth, atm, the truth could all well be different in 8 weeks time!

There's still more info to share but I will post back later, I need a cuppa and ciggie
