There is no error number displayed on that message - the message is too long to fit in the "pop up" window.

It might be possible to change the display format, if you can enter your STB's display settings option menu (use the remote control's settings function) from widescreen to another format, but if the STB isn't working properly that might not be available.

Try powering off the STB, remove the smart card, wipe on a clean dry cloth, replace, and reboot the STB.

Is this a new STB and has it previously worked OK?
