Right, so a bunch of peaceful Buddhist monks protesting against a rather nasty oppressive regime are in fact " 'Destructive elements' opposed to peace"


The story goes on to say that 3000 people were killed when the military crushed the last democracy uprising.
When I was there they had Billboards with slogans in Burmese as well as English. One of them read: "Crush all destructive elements". The rethoric hasn't changed apparently.
