Thanks for the quick reply which raises more questions and probably going off topic, but looking here:

and the diagram shown, I would need 2 wall plugs and a router. What is the router for, and is 14 Mpbs wired speed good, and would the modem performance be impaired. Also what type of wiring would be required for the various connections?? For example when connecting a laptop in another room.
