Sorry – your information is incorrect. If you look at any ISP they market the product as “unlimited” but when you look into the T&C’s you will find something called a “Fair User Policy” and this states you should be aware of the amount you are downloading and sometimes they quote a figure like 30GB / 50GB per month. This is to stop people maxing out all the bandwidth. If the customer goes over their considered monthly amount then they risk getting they service ceased or throttled back. If they continue to abuse the bandwidth their connection can be terminated.

It doesn’t matter what streaming method you use – it’s still downloading and is still counted towards the end users monthly amount. Streaming is just a transport, like downloading http or FTP.

Neighbours was probably a bad example, but it was used in the context of a popular daytime TV show. I remember HDTV from the late 80’s early 90’s when I worked for Sony – I got to go to IBC in Brighton to see the latest and greatest kit – unfortunately the market wasn’t right at the time and never took off in Europe. Now technology has moved on and it looks like HD is here to stay and everyday more TV, movies are being filmed in HD. I’ve been to a concert which used HD projections and was filmed in HD. A good example of filming in HD would be Doctor Who.

The only part of your answer i respect is where you are wary about new companies, fair enough! i cant see anything wrong with that epinion.
Teaboy2 – you have joined a forum that’s soul purpose is to help people with cable installations, technology, and a wealth of subjects We have over 1 million posts, 31,644 members, and 63,019 threads – I should think somewhere during this period we have discussed ADSL contention ratios, so I think it’s fair to say we might have a good idea between us of how technology works.

As you have seen i have taken the time to write these replys in my own time and the truth is iptv is the future i suppose you guys will just wait until sky turn all theres from sat to iptv before you realise?!
I think the problem is that you are blinkered because you work for them. Step back and do some research on the links posted and you’ll hear what the public – YOUR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS think. Do your research – like we have – and you’ll see why are negative. Sky and VM has invested millions in their infrastructure – your company is relying on the customers broadband connection – which in the UK is still not that good yet and is limited in order to keep the service stable and fair for all users.

They can only say what the salespeople told them. God help your company if they phoned me!!

Why take the word of those who cant possible have any idea?!! do your own research maybe start at a reptable source such as this http://informitv.com/articles/2007/0...italbroadcast/ go to an outlet where you can see it working if you must just dont be a fool and be a critic on an area you know nothing about.
I’m sorry? Brought the little b***** down? Teaboy2 – please grow up and this is a family forum. As you can see I’m still here alive and kicking and giving my now constructive opinion. Your words mean nothing to me. But my wallet will mean something to you when I don’t subscribe to your company’s services. The reason I stick with Sky is (as pointed out – better the devil you know, and fool I may be) is that they have a tried and tested service. Your’s is still in its initial planning rollout stages.

Anyway – this is just my opinion and may not reflect what others think.

Do I get a prize for the most fragment post now? :p
