If you delete svchost, you loose all connectivity.
I wouldn't use these free apps from VM. They don't support them. They are poor, and VM's advice:

Uninstall my firewall for it? No chance.
PC guard is freeware. Current downloadable version is 1.03. That was in 2003. What version do you people have, and does anyone get definition updates?
