Re: Big Brother

My impressions:

The Twins

Very pretty, but thoroughly irritating and, I think, slightly insane.

Carole
Milli-tant (see Viz), but looks like she could make things interesting.

Chanelle
Seems like she could actually be quite nice. Probably one of the most normal people in there.

Charley
Arrogant, but OK looking.

Emily

Hmm.. Claims that Indie is the future. Well, Indie music has been around since at least the late 80s, so I don't think mainstream pop is going anywhere anytime soon.

Regarding her character, well, I'm not sure what to think. She seems shallow, but, hey, she's a drama student and on BB, so what can you expect?

She does, however, remind me of being in my old office. The drama students had a large "performance space" (room) a couple of doors down, so I tended to hear a lot of them. It used to get a little surreal when I walked up to my office, and saw a couple of students arguing outside the room ,still in character. One particular time I remember, two girls, both Londoners born and bred, were arguing outside my office in broad Texan accents.

Laura
Seems quite nice. Wouldn't like to go out drinking with her if she nicks other people's drinks though (as, IIRC, Davina said when she went in). I hate people who don't drink alcohol when they are buying, but will nick someone else's.

Lesley
The "Germaine Greer" of this house. Intelligent, and probably interesting, woman. I don't think she'll last long though.

Nicky
I like Nicky. She may be "Gobby and Argumentative", but , perhaps bizarrely, I tend to get on with that sort of woman. Probably because most of my family are women, and some are argumentative.

Shabnam
I thought I would really like her, but I don't. Not only does she "Talk Talk Talk" (which I can handle: One of my friends talks constantly, and can talk constantly for over 20 minutes without even apparently taking a breath), but she shouts as well. I hate that.

Tracey
Probably a nice person, although she seems like she is still "enoying" the high from some sort of drug, so I wouldn't want to be around when she comes down.

Avid raver. The fact that she uses words like "'ave it" and "Phat", and raved in the 90s as well, suggest to me that she was probably a fan of the Happy Mondays.
