Thanks for your response. I decided eventually like over last weekend to go back to SP2 cos honest there are lots and lots of people getting the same problems as me

they can't get audio installed plus if you do you get a lovely little media audio contoller error and media video controller error. SO I gave up and went back to XP.

Strangely everything is working fine on XP!! But I just wanted you to know I had read your message and you deserve a thank you from me so thank you
