I really don't understand that mentality. If you aren't happy with something you have various choices, you can complain, through feedback and retentions, you can try and fight it through word of mouth, raising awareness, etc, OR you can vote with your wallet and leave.
If all the people who weren't happy with something at VM (or any other big company) just left, for another provider, there'd be no big companies left, they'd have gone bankrupt and you'd be doing your gaming (or whatever it is you feel downloaders are infringing on with their raping of the system) on a 56k modem for £30 a month.
