Re: Web 2.0 wave starts to take hold

It seems to me that, at the moment, Web 2.0 is a series of technologies that people are currently furiously trying to find a profitable use for.

I am not knocking it at all. I've used blogs a fair bit, and think that they can geniunely be useful.

I have to admit, I fail to see how online word processors and spreadsheets are useful for the average person. In fact, I am slightly suspicious as to why Google are willing to spend a lot of money to provide us something "free". Especially when they claim (as in the bbc article above) they aren't doing it to get people to see their ads.
