I believe the downloading of copyrighted material in this country without paying is illegal. Until
recently(2005) Sweden was the only European nation that let people download copyrighted material for personal use, but if you happen to live in Canada it's perfectly legal at the moment as long as you don't share.
If someone wants to download copyrighted material without fear of prosecution the safest way at the moment is via newsgroups as you're not sharing.
