Sorted! The problem lay with the HP Laserjet 1012 drivers. I switched to a generic MS 1100 series driver (same as the one I'm using to get my XP64 machine to talk to my printer with) and all was fine

HP are really sh*t at bringing out drivers. They havn't updated them since about 2003 and have made no attempt to bring out 64 bit drivers for this printer, in spite of a lot of people begging for them all over the web!

Still, at least I'm sorted here
